I recently had the privilege to graphic record a session for the California Community Foundation on The Untold Narratives by Dr. Elizabeth Santiago.

Dr. Santiago spoke about how important it is to create more narratives that represent the multiple identities and realities in the world.  Specifically, she helps Students Of Color to create community and belonging by sharing their personal stories.

I feel like this concept can help all of us. Whether we write our stories down or simply become more comfortable telling them verbally, sharing our stories creates connection and balance in the world.

What was it like to be the child of immigrants? How did you get through cancer treatment? How do you manage as a working mother of twins?

If we don't tell our own story someone else might tell it for us.  And they probably won't get it right.
